In Singapore, Primary education are both stressful for the children as well as the parents. It is impossible for the teachers to provide the individual attention to their students as most classes have more than 30 students. Some classes has as much as 40 students. Many parents have sent their kids for group tuition and as well as engage home tutor to coach their kids. Some kids are struggling with the intensive amount of learning and became fearful of maths problems. However, there are children who find maths very easy. They are quick in analyse the problem and understand teachers instantly.
I had the privilege to coach many students. Their ability in learning varies widely. Some of the kids who has special needs like autistic, ADHD, lazy eyes & etc. Some are very bright who can understand the explanation by just one explanation. Major of the students fear most are the word problems. Beside the ability in arithmetic, students need to have good comprehension in English language to understand those word problems. Those students who do well usually have a good understand of the 11 type of concepts which usually appears in the test papers. Hence, I created this blog to help those students who need help in words problem. I will also cover the various concepts in my posting, so please visit frequently to keep yourself and kids update with the latest example.
